ABOUT!

What is 'KOLME'?

'Kolme' literally just means 'three' in Finnish. I first heard it on Twitch, because a streamer I watch named aksually has a Finnish text-to-speech bot that reads out donations. The donation messages are in English, and the bot has a really thick accent when reading aloud, but occasionally someone will send a '3' in their message to type a heart emoticon ('<3'), and the bot would read out 'kolme'. The soundbyte of the bot saying 'kolme' when I would have the stream on started slowly subconsciously entering my mindspace even when I wasn't watching streams, and I didn't realize where it even came from at first. I started saying it under my breath to myself randomly, and after nearly three years of this, I finally started to get annoyed with myself that I had no idea where it had come from, and I almost started to believe I'd made it up. Eventually, it all clicked into place. The word itself or origin aren't super symbolic to me, it's just a word that I think sounds nice, and that I've decided to use as a username for myself.

What Am I to Expect on 'KOLME'?

I made this site because, much like others, I wanted a completely customizable and entirely unique place on the internet where I could upload anything in any way that I wanted. Coding for this site began in April 2025, and snapshots are available through the Internet Archive in news | archive. I'll be sharing my art and ramblings and various links in their specified sections. I kind of feel like I'm bringing nothing to the table, like KOLME should serve some sort of fundamental purpose on the internet, but until I can think of something cool enough, this site will remain as a personal dumping ground.

As stated on the home page, KOLME is not currently mobile friendly, and may not look right on monitors that aren't 1920px x 1080px (yeah... I have a huge ass monitor... sorry laptop users). I know it's a critical flaw, but I do plan on adjusting for other devices in the (hopefully near) future. Firefox is also the best browser to use when cruising kolme, though I test everything in Chrome and Edge as well (though, I still recommend you use Firefox, because the audio tags and fonts look much more appealing than they do on Chrome/Edge). Javascript and iframes are used loosely throughout the site, but you can still access pretty much everything KOLME has to offer without them. You will miss out on some fun sound effects though with Javascript disabled, so I recommend turning it on. As kolme grows, and my brain expands, JS may eventually become a key component to the site, because I want to get better at using it.

If KOLME doesn't work for you for one reason or another, please email me! I'm a very novice coder, so there's sure to be errors around every corner, and I would like to be alerted of them! However, I don't work on KOLME that much to be honest, so bugs may take a long time to be fixed, or may not be fixed at all if it's only a temporary feature on the site.

WOW! What a wall of text! Alright get off of this page already! And DON'T click on any bombs!
