Art Links!
Overwhelmed? How about a random one?
While I try and stray from social media, and recommend that others do the same, I can't help but feel inspired by artists that are easily accessible through these means. Towards the bottom is a list of the only reasons why I open social media apps anymore.
Web/comics!
(Italics text are series that are finished)
- Blind Alley - created by one of my favorite artists kumerish/Adam de Souza, a Peanuts inspired comic about a handful of children living in Blind Alley. (Please also consider checking out his other work! The Gulf is one of my favorite summer reads!)
- Dog Haus - a funny, slice-of-life, queer, coming-of-age series following dogs (links for webtoon and instagram).
- I Am Not a Freemdoom - well, it's a concept album with a comic attached, I just really wanted to include it here. The story is very loose and silly (also kind of cartoonishly graphic) and the character designs are so pleasing.
- Alex Graudins' Birthday Comics - annual birthday countdown comics by toonyballoony, with the number of comics depending on the age that they were turning.
- Condiment Raccoon - food based comics in raccoon form that sometimes include recipes.
Web Series/Shorts!
- Subterranean Losers - short episodes (really short, like, under a minute sometimes) about a bird and a cat that live together. I'm assuming this is what living in LA is like.
- Shermy's Forest - weird wizard show with interesting concepts and characters (also has a neocities!)
- Set Sail For Candy - Incredibly underrated and stunningly animated short about candy sailors. This deserves all of its love and more.
- ENA/Hands Up - you know it, you love it... while I try and recommend lesser known animated projects, I just feel such a soft spot in my heart for ENA. To make up for it, watch Hands Up, also made by Joel G, it deserves just as much attention.
- Punch Punch Forever! - probably the most Newgrounds feeling series ever. Competitive artial arts with 90s anime inspiration. I love anything in a 4:3 aspect ratio.
- Day Job - Working at a bowling alley. Perfectly summarizes coworker interactions and the never-ending feeling of dread that comes with a job that you can't see yourself leaving.
- Pixie Park - a really fun interactive miniseries about a waterpark for pixies, includes a lot of behind the scenes production notes and even games!!

Youtube
- AndyLand - surreal, mostly pixel, art. I aspire to be this video
- Paul Robertson - if you've ever seen an Adult Swim pixel art bumper, there's like a 90% chance this guy made it. He also did sprite work for Gravity Falls and many more TVA shows. Instantly recognizable style.
- mclydeus - incredible animations. My socks flew off when I found out they're made in FireAlpaca.
- asia miller - charmingly animated, no matter the style, and always nostalgic.
- trichodermamold - (previously @rensaven) the AMV work here is phenomenal. These all manage to weave beautifully into their songs and still be unique in their own ways.
- zompnet - silly cartoons about... things...

- appletoast - I actually followed BEFORE she worked on Day Job and then connected the dots after it came out! Actually fascinating, down to Earth art, and she has PDFs of zines on her ko-fi.
- vicestrella - gráficos 3D de varias cosas, usualmente basados en México (específicamente de la CDMX). Tan ambiente, en estilo de PS1 (y a mí de Wrestling Empire LOL)
- memedokies - been following since the Fork and Knife Intro, maybe one of the most personally influential people on this list.
- usukawa hifutaro - Orangutan drawings, they have a really cute store as well (though, based out of Japan).
- lui mort - arte calma y sentimental
- sournoodl - really incredible stuff. I know I linked his instagram but this artist also has some incredible animations on his youtube, my favorites are Bodies of Water about the transgender male experience with body dysphoria and bolavlk about the all too common experience of online manipulation towards the youth.
- xiaoxiong kuma - cat art. There's always some crazy shit going on on this person's story too.
- yap1co - a perfect mesh of several styles and I like all of them.
- desktop girl - artwork that reminds me of the Madeline books. Lots of creatures and people in flat color.
- kyum1nq - artist that I've followed for A Long Time. For years I've been absolutely baffled by what she puts out. The animations (also on youtube) ring most sentimental to me.
- limabeans - painting, digital and traditional, executed masterfully. Every time they post I get so jealous lol
- jupimaya - very warm and comforting illustrations, occassionally comics as well.
- ians_journal - funny videos made with Flipnote Studio 3D (they have a website now too!)
- SaeNee - awesome hilarious animations arts and comics!!

- fruiitlins - I love the sketchbook scans as well as the insanely detailed backgrounds. Character design too. Y'know what he's just good at everything!!
- Marcus Oluwale - incredible character design paired with stunning backgrounds. The contrast in style between the two I think draw me to these pieces.
- elebant - gorgeously animated shorts. Like seamlessly flowing. Watch this now.
- anistarrae - like a moving painting. Keeping such consistency with lineless animations is insanely impressive.
- NN_EE_ZZ - fantastic character design. I don't even know how to describe it, you just have to see it. The tarot card designs are incredible.
- kentoi - simplistic yet stylistic art of backgrounds and props, lots of cars driving off of cliffs.
- picassotrigger8 - bizarre and intriguing animations (WARNING for EXTREME FLASHING LIGHTS and EYESTRAIN)
- its_lit_lee - 3D blender low poly animations is one of my favorite genres. This video is my fav.
